Responsibilities

The Principal Consultant at Symmetrics Group plays the crucial role of the Account Manager during client engagements. Candidates must be able to navigate and manage the client relationship during an engagement, as well as manage the day-to-day consulting activities of the team. This includes:

 

  • Providing significant sales and marketing and/or industry business acumen and thought leadership through new client pursuits, billable client engagements, and creation of thought capital
  • Delivering day-to-day management of client account(s), including resource management, sourcing resources to fulfill client project needs, performing billable services, selling projects, reporting status, account administration, project budget/financial management, and other duties as determined by Company in its reasonable discretion
  • Collaborating with VP to develop account strategy, roadmaps, tactics
  • Driving a personal billable utilization of at least 50% quarterly
  • Possessing the ability to serve as Account Manager for clients with multiple projects
  • Growing and expanding existing accounts and supporting business development efforts with new accounts
  • Assisting in recruiting, onboarding, and developing new team members
  • Ensuring timely and accurate time and expense reporting on a weekly basis
Qualifications

The ideal Principal Consultant will have the following qualifications:

 

  • 15+ years combined work experience in a sales or sales leadership role and as a consultant in the sales effectiveness/sales enablement space
  • 5+ years managing complex client relationships in a consultative environment
  • Experience “quarterbacking” a virtual team
  • Ability to facilitate a large, diverse audience toward an effective outcome
  • Versatility to work across industry verticals
  • Skilled in creatively synthesizing data from disparate sources into models, tools, guidelines, and best practices
  • Orientation towards process and consensus-building with the ability to break down complex concepts into consumable pieces
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the propensity to be professionally direct (able to be direct when necessary, influence, persuade, and motivate others)
  • Demonstrated organizational and writing skills to develop and execute formal work plans (when necessary), client deliverables, and internal content
  • High level of personal integrity
  • Mastery-Level skill in the use of MS Office tools: PowerPoint, Word, Excel
  • MBA preferred

Travel is required approximately 50% of the time for typical engagements (up to 75% at peak times). Compensation will be a combination of base salary and a variable bonus based on the margin realized through clients sold and managed.
